The clinical Study of Lovastation in Patients with Primary Hypercholesterolemia

Abstract
|
|
|
The study was carried oat to assess the clinical efficacy of lovastatin, administered with 20-80mg daily for 12 weeks, in 31 patients with primary hypercholesterolemia which was not well controlled by d.etary treatment alone. The result obtained were as follows;
L In the patients group treated with lovastatin given once-daily in
of total-cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol decreased efficiently. the evening, plasma concentrations HDL-cholesterol level was slightly increased.
2. No serious or clinically significant toxic effects were observed. There were mild cases of adverse of
fects in a few patients, but drug discontinuation was not required.
3. There were no particular changes in ophthalmological test and ECG. No clinically significant biochemical
changes were observed.
